Combining objects
Join objects into the selected object with one of three operations:
| Operation | Result | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Merge | The two become one piece of clay | Fuse an arm onto a body |
| Subtract | The other object is cut out of the selected one | Cut a keyhole, hollow a socket |
| Intersect | Only where they overlap remains | A shape that fits two silhouettes |
The other object is used up and the result keeps the selected object’s look. The whole operation is one undo step.
- Smooth the seam after a Merge: it’s real clay, so smoothing blends it like any other join.
- Use a duplicate (Ctrl D) as the cutter if you want to keep the original.
- Combining works on clay objects; go back to clay first if one has a detail mesh.
