Matcaps, flat and wireframe views
The Looks tab changes how the clay is drawn while you sculpt. None of it changes the clay.
Clay looks and matcaps
Section titled “Clay looks and matcaps”Shapeaway has built-in clay looks and colours; press M to step through them. A matcap is a picture of a lit sphere that the clay takes its shading from. Import any matcap image to use your own; it’s kept with your settings, and each object can have its own.
Cavity shading
Section titled “Cavity shading”Creases are darkened by the clay’s own curvature, so fine detail reads clearly at every detail level.
Flat and wireframe
Section titled “Flat and wireframe”| View | Use it for |
|---|---|
| Flat shading | Seeing facets and planes |
| Wireframe | Checking triangle density, especially on detail meshes |
Realistic view
Section titled “Realistic view”R turns on the physically lit realistic view.
